The Isle of Palms Exchange Club is a not-for-profit organization of over 650 chapters nationwide. The club is based on four main pillars: Americanism; youth programs; prevention of child abuse and community service. Standards of service which they vow to incorporate with the club’s new pier and dock. Located on Hamlin Creek behind the Isle of Palms in Charleston County, SC the Exchange Club project consisted of a community floating dock structure (4’x220′ fixed pier walkway, 20’x27′ covered fixed pier head, 4’x30′ gangway and a 15’x30′ floating dock) and a new two-hundred thirty foot long timber bulkhead. JGT provided engineering design of the new timber structure including loading calculations, pile design, framing and decking of fixed structures, a roof over the fixed pier head and the floating kayak dock. JGT also developed an Operations and Maintenance Manual for the facility for the Exchange Club. The project was completed in October 2019.
