The project consisted of obtaining permits for four barge mooring buoys in
Cooper River and six mooring buoys in Town Creek. The purpose of the Cooper
River Buoys was to provide temporary anchorage for barges used in
conjunction with the construction of the new Cooper River Bridge. The
mooring buoys in Town Creek are to be used by Ocean going vessels as
well
as barges used in the construction of the new bridge and demolition of the
of the two old bridges. This permit required close coordination with the
Environmental/Regulatory Agencies, the local maritime community, and the
navigation section of the Corps of Engineers
