Shem Creek Park dredging begins!

Dredging has begun in historic Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.  JGT was engaged by the Town of Mount Pleasant to plan, permit, design and provide construction administration for this dredging project at the Town’s newly constructed Shem Creek Park.  The project is taking place concurrently with the Corps of Engineers’ dredging of the Federal Channel in the Creek as well as the Mount Pleasant Channel and the anchorage basin adjacent to Sullivan’s Island.  The material is being hydraulically dredged by the Dredge Richmond (Cottrell Contracting) and is being pumped approximately five miles to the Morris Island Confined Disposal Facility.
