Sampit River Facility
|
The Sampit River Facility is a planning and design study
conducted on the Sampit River in Georgetown, South Carolina. The
study assessed the feasibility of constructing an 6 lane, 300 trailer
tournament caliber ramp facility on the site of a former rice field. An examination of the
wetlands was also conducted. A Master Plan was developed including a
monument for Mariners lost at sea, a community open air farmers' market,
walking trails, shelters for gatherings, and a combination open area and
overflow parking to meet occasional fishing tournament parking
demands. An outline of environmental issues as well as cost estimates
relevant to development was created.
